Jewellery care.

PRESERVE IT.

Here are a few tips on how to preserve your jewellery to last a lifetime. Tip number one is to avoid showering, swimming or washing hands with your jewellery on. The darkened surfaces have been sealed with a protective wax to preserve the patina, but over time, especially with soap and water, that patina will wear. The second is to avoid physical activity or labour that could scratch the silver or damage the stone. It is also important to note that stones like amber and opals are extremely soft and should be handled with extra care. Lastly, avoid sleeping with jewellery on and be sure to store in a safe place when not wearing it. If your jewellery does get damaged, please reach out. I offer free touch ups with shipping cost at the expense of the customer. For more in depth repairs, contact me and I will see if I can help. Please note, that not all piece can have patina added again due to specific stones. Keep reading for tips on how to polish.

POLISH IT.

Your sterling silver jewellery will tarnish over time, especially if you don’t wear it often. The best way to brighten up your Wild Folk Silver pieces is by using a polishing cloth. Gently rub all the surfaces you would like to polish and try to avoid the areas that have been darkened with patina. Wearing your silver jewellery helps to naturally polish the metal. If you do not wear it often, you can store it in a small zip loc bag to help prolong your jewellery’s shine. I do offer free polishing and touch ups with shipping both ways at the customers expense. Do not use any polishing products that will strip away the patina. If you have any more questions, feel free to message me by clicking the link below.
